The concerns which fail are those which have scattered their capital, which means that they have scattered their brains also. They have investments in this, or that, or the other, here, there and everywhere.“Don't put all your eggs in one basket”is all wrong.
任何失败的企业都是因为分散了财力，这意味着分散了企业的精力。他们到处投资，方方面面都要投资。“别把所有的鸡蛋放进一只篮子”的说法简直就是大错特错。
I tell you“put all your eggs in one basket, and then watch that basket”. Look round you and take notice；men who do that do not often fail.It is easy to watch and carry the one basket.It is trying to carry too many baskets that breaks most eggs in this country.
我要告诉你们的是，“要把所有的鸡蛋放进一只篮子，然后看护好那只篮子。”环顾周围并留心观察，能这样做的人往往不会失败。管好并拿好那只篮子其实很容易。在我们这个国家，想提多个篮子而打碎鸡蛋的人也很多。
He who carries three baskets must put one on his head, which is apt to tumble and trip him up. One fault of the American businessman is lack of concentration.
有三只篮子的人就需要把其中一只顶在头上，这样就很容易摔倒跌烂。美国企业家们有个共同的缺点就是不会集中。
To summarize what I have said：Aim for the highest, never enter a bar room；do not touch liquor, or if at all only at meals；never speculate；never indorse beyond your surplus cash fund；make the firm's interest yours；break orders always to save owners；concentrate；put all your eggs in one basket, and watch that basket；expenditure always within revenue；lastly be not impatient, for, as Emerson says，“no one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourselves.”
接下来我来总结一下：要立志高远；千万不要流连于酒吧，不要沾酒，用餐时也尽量不喝；千万不要有投机的心理；在签署支付的款项时，千万不要超过盈余的现金储备；视公司利益为自己的利益；取消订货的目的永远是要挽救货主；集中精力；把所有鸡蛋放进一只篮子并照管好那只篮子；支出永远小于收入；最后，不要失去耐心，正如爱默生所说：“除了你自己以外，没有人能骗你，让你偏离成功的轨道。”

这个句子中有一个结构“take notice”，表示“注意，留心”。同义词组还有be aware。
