3.4　Shim

General Items

3.4.1　The arrangement of shim for equipment shall conform to the requirements of the design technical document or the regulations of the current national standard GB 50231 General Code for Construction and Acceptance of Mechanical Equipment Installation Engineering.

Quantity to be checked:Randomly check 20% of the items.

Inspection method:Observe measure with ruler，check with feeler gauge and manually hammer the shim.

3.4.2　In case the shim is mounted via grinding，the surface of concrete foundation shall be flatly chipped so as to make the contact points between the shim and the concrete surface evenly distributed.Quantity to be checked:Randomly check 20% of the items.Inspection method:Visual inspection.
